Now that 2015 is officially underway, the Subaru brand is doing what it does best: taking charge. All told, each of the brand’s seven 2015 model year vehicles received 2015 Top Safety Pick awards from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) while five of those vehicles also earned Top Safety Pick+ designation. Subaru is the only automaker to claim IIHS Top Safety Pick awards for all of its models for six years in a row (from 2010 to 2015).
The following Subaru vehicles earned Top Safety Pick awards from IIHS:
- 2015 Subaru BRZ
- 2015 Subaru WRX/STI
The following Subaru vehicles earned Top Safety Pick awards in addition to Top Safety Pick+ awards from IIHS when equipped with Subaru EyeSight® Driver Assist Technology:
- mail order pharmacy business plan
- 2015 Subaru Impreza
- 2015 Subaru XV Crosstrek
- 2015 Subaru Outback
- 2015 Subaru Legacy
Introduced in 2012, Subaru EyeSight® Driver Assist Technology features Vehicle Lane Departure Warning, Adaptive Cruise Control and Pre-Collision Braking and was the first system to utilize stereo camera technology to identify objects like pedestrians, vehicles and cyclists.
Top Safety Pick+ designation is the highest safety standard awarded by the IIHS, and in order to claim it, the five vehicles listed above were required to earn the Institute’s highest rating of “Superior” in front crash prevention.
But those aren’t all of the accomplishments that our dealership in Ft. Myers is celebrating. The 2015 Subaru Impreza and 2015 Subaru XV Crosstrek are the only vehicles in the small car category to earn “Superior” ratings.
To qualify for 2015 Top Safety Pick designation, a vehicle must receive “Good” ratings in the high-speed front and side crash tests, the rollover test and the seat/head restraint evaluation for neck injury protection in rear impacts as well as “Good” or “Acceptable” ratings in the small overlap front test and “Advanced” or “Superior” ratings in front crash prevention.
