Now that summer is winding down, it’s time to soak up the last few weeks with wonderful experiences. After all, 100 creative writing prompts are designed for exploration and adventure – so what’s holding you back?

The answer should be nothing. And if you’re ready to take your 2015 Subaru Outback beyond Ft. Myers, there’s no better time than the present.

Earlier this summer, Subaru of America made a $1.4 million donation to the National Park Foundation, which in turn offered Impact Grants to nine national parks. The donation is the culmination of the brand’s sixth annual “Share the Love” event and will go on to fund conservation efforts throughout the country. Throughout the “Share the Love” event, the brand donated $250 for each new vehicle sold or leased to the customer’s selected charity.

This year’s Impact Grants have assisted in the successful implementation of the following national park programs:

  • The Habitat Restoration program at Hagerman Fossil Beds National Monument in Idaho is dedicated to restoring low habitat quality areas of the park, which were damaged by the Long Butte wildfire that burned more than 75 percent of the park in August 2010. The program also includes elements of community outreach and public education.
  • The Bat Survey event at Fire Island National Seashore in New York is held to conduct field research and collect data on declining bat populations in the area while increasing public education efforts.
  • The Pollinator Species Conservation initiative at Manassas National Battlefield Park in Virginia will gather partners and volunteers to plant native wildflower pollinator seed mixes developed to foster foraging and nesting materials for pollinators, who have lost more than 9,000 acres of habitat to development efforts over the last 10 years.

The partnership is a natural fit for two organizations focused on providing a quality experience and getting back to nature. With more than 400 national parks to choose from, Subaru drivers are sure to find a new treasure around every turn. Find a national park and begin a new journey with your 2015 Subaru Outback today!
