At O’Brien Subaru of Ft. Myers, we enjoy representing a brand with such an outstanding legacy – and we don’t just mean the vehicle! The Subaru brand has seen a pretty remarkable history, and our dealership is proud to have a part in building the brand as it progresses into the future.

Take, for instance, September sales, which hit an outstanding 31,755 unit sales and marked the best September sales that the brand has ever seen with a 15-percent jump over the same period last year. With year-to-date sales at 313,407 units (28-percent above January through September 2012), Subaru is well on its way to earning its fifth-consecutive year of sales increases and laying the foundation for a strong future.

The brand saw great improvements for a favorite of Ft. Myers: the Subaru Forester. This model enjoyed a 75-percent increase over the same period last year and a 49-percent increase year to date with 10,620 units sold.

As we look ahead to the remainder of the year, our dealership is eager to see the progress of the Subaru Outback crossover and Subaru Legacy sedan, both of which were recently named “superior” vehicles in the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) Front Crash Prevention test program. This new program was developed out of Highway Loss Data Institute research, which indicated that forward collision warning and automatic braking systems, like the Subaru EyeSight system, are truly playing a significant role in helping drivers avoid frontal crashes.

After all, sales figures are not the only thing able to build a strong future. In fact, nothing makes our dealership feel more secure in the future of the Subaru brand than driver safety. Join us as we continue to monitor and celebrate the progress of the Subaru brand!
