After achieving record sales of 513,693 units in 2014 – the first time the automaker has cracked one half million sales in its history – the Subaru brand announced in a press release its commitment to giving back by means of a donation of 513,693 meals to Feeding America and the organization’s network of 200 food banks throughout the country.
Donations begin with the equivalent of 50,000 meals to Food Bank of South Jersey, which serves the community where Subaru corporate headquarters are based. The automaker will go on to donate the equivalent of 10,000 meals to food banks serving Subaru of American offices in the following states: California, Texas, Illinois, Florida, Maryland, Colorado, Georgia, Ohio, Minnesota and Oregon. The balance of these donations will support Feeding America and its national feeding programs in their work as the largest domestic hunger-relief organization in the country.
