Last month we asked you to get your travel plans and wheels in line as the Subaru brand prepared for its attempt at breaking the GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS® record for the “Largest Parade of Subaru Cars,” which ran through Itasca, Ill., on July 13. The event was exciting and the results spectacular: Subaru beat the existing record and set a new one at 371 Subaru vehicles.
While we were far away in Florida, O’Brien Ft. Myers Subaru was cheering on the brand’s enthusiastic and supportive fans who lined up along and within the parade route. We believe the spirit of the record-setting challenge perfectly captures the fun and quirky spirit of the Subaru brand, and we can’t wait to see what’s up next.
But it wouldn’t be a true Subaru event if there weren’t a philanthropic arm attached, and we’re just as excited to announce that the event helped the brand raise money for Salute, Inc., and PAWS Chicago. Our Naples Subaru dealer is proud to represent a manufacturer that gives while it gets, and we’re thrilled to see that Subaru customers feel the same way.
The previous GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS record for “Largest Parade of Subaru Cars” was earned by Subaru during a July 2009 event that drew 339 vehicles along a 4.2-mile route in Itasca. Subaru has never been a brand that is satisfied with sitting still, and that’s why we’re happy but not surprised to see that the brand has collaborated with the Village of Itasca to up the ante.
Even if you didn’t get a chance to join Subaru for the record-breaking parade, we hope you have the opportunity to enjoy your Subaru in a parade of your own on the streets surrounding your neighborhood or on a road trip around the country. We encourage you to upload pictures and share your stories with the brand that is always looking for new ways to drive up the fun!
