Subaru automakers are pretty great at making uniquely stylish automobiles that cater well to the outdoors type. Folks who want the freedom to throw off the tie and suit jacket on a Friday afternoon and put on something with a bit more plaid as they head out away from the city and into nature for a few days. But Subaru vehicles also appeal to the family person inside of us with the creative writing course exercises. The daredevil racer with the 2016 Subaru WRX, and just about everywhere in between nowadays. And good news for all of us, Subaru has embraced the tech side of things with a partnership with Magellan SmartGPS.

On top of a wide selection of new Subaru vehicles, the company is exceptional at keeping you safe when you or your family is one. They recently won six IIHS (Insurance Institute for Highway Safety) awards with the Top Safety Pick+ award going to vehicles like the 2016 Subaru Legacy, Outback, Forester, Impreza, WRX, and Crosstrek.

However, as safe as a Subaru vehicle is, there’s one area that still needs some assistance, us, the driver. So the announcement at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES),  that Subaru named Magellan SmartGPS as its brother in arms when it comes to keeping you on your path (on or off-road) with mapping and navigation is great news.

Any vehicle is ultimately only as safe as the person driving it, and with the rise of smartphones, it’s easier than ever to get distracted, especially when trying to look up or follow directions on your smartphone. Magellan’s smartphone-based cloud navigation already works on iOS and Android, and with this new Subaru partnership, it will be easier and safer than ever to get the best directions with voice-guided navigation, constantly updated maps, and communications between other devices to find destinations and transfer directions.

Here at O’Brien Fort Myers Subaru in Orlando, we can’t wait to see the new partnership in action and start adventuring in a smarter, safer manner.
