The Subaru brand of vehicles is a unique one for many reasons. For one, their style has long been synonymous with outdoorsy types, and that’s not a bad thing, especially in our modern world where we could all use a little more fresh air outdoors and in nature from time to time. This outdoorsy, nature-loving style has also been influential in the unique lineup as the brand has found that five-door wagons seem to do well.
Models like the 2017 Subaru Outback and the 2017 Subaru Forester are the big ones, as they are standard as hatchbacks, but then there’s the recently much talked about 2017 Subaru Impreza. What makes the new Subaru Impreza unique in its own right is that, while it’s a sedan, it’s also offered as a five-door wagon.
The 2017 Subaru Impreza has been talked about a lot over the last several months for its new construction with the new Subaru Global Platform and all of the updates and enhancements that have been put into the new model. So we thought that now would be a good time, here at your local Fort Myers, and Naples, FL Subaru dealership, to highlight what’s new specifically in the five-door model.
One thing we’re really excited about is the larger opening in the rear. By splitting the taillights and putting part of the lens on the lift gate, the automaker has added four inches of width to the rear opening. Four inches may not seem like a lot on paper, but it can make all the difference when trying to pack things in the back. This also translates to an additional three cubic feet of cargo space.
Additionally, all the new features in safety and convenience that come with the sedan are present here in the five-door model. Other changes include a lower center gravity and better handling than ever before.
