The was first shown at the last Tokyo Motor Show. It has since hit roads in Japan but we haven’t gotten it yet stateside. However, that’s all about to change. The 2017 Subaru Forester is on its way to your Naples and Fort Myers, FL Subaru dealer.

The Subaru Forester is in the middle of its Subaru life-cycle. This means that most of the updates to the crossover will be performance, safety, and technology based, instead of any major changes to the overall look of the vehicle. Both the front and rear fascias have been slightly updated from the 2016 Subaru Forester models. Other changes include some interior updates as well as more active safety equipment.

Perhaps the biggest change to the new 2017 Subaru Forester is the addition of brake-based torque vectoring. This new system is also something you won’t get on many other vehicles in the crossover segment.

While it’s only available on the upper trims of the 2017 Subaru Forester, the Active Torque Vectoring system is similar to that from the meaning of creative writing activities and Subaru WRX STI. So what does Active Torque Vectoring mean? It means that while braking through a turn the inside front wheel will accommodate the turn to reduce understeer and offer a smoother ride all around.

This feature comes as part of a bundle on the top trim, the 2017 Subaru Forester 2.0XT. That vehicle also sports a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that makes 250 horsepower.

However, engine features and speed aren’t the only places where the new Subaru Forester gets great updates. The new model also features the highly updated version of EyeSight. The safety system now features things like lane-keeping assist, blind-spot detection, and rear cross-traffic alert. The vehicle also retains all previous features like forward-collision warning and the like.

Overall, the 2017 Subaru Forester looks like it’s going to be a nice update to the current 2016 Subaru Forester. Whether you’re looking for a new or used Subaru near Naples, FL, we’ve got a great selection to check out at O’Brien Subaru of Fort Myers.
