Fort Myers and Naples, FL may be far away from both the 2019 Chicago and New York auto shows, but that doesn’t mean that we’re all that far away from getting several new 2020 Subaru models. Here at, we’re breaking down what we know.

The 2020 Subaru Legacy debuted recently at the Chicago Auto Show, and now we’re getting a glimpse of the upcoming 2020 Subaru Outback, the automaker’s iconic hatchback. So, we’re breaking down what we know about these two cars.

The seventh-generation Subaru Legacy not only gets a style update, but it also gets updates in about every area. The new looks like a proper midsize sedan inside and out. Powering the first three trim levels is a familiar 2.5-liter boxer four-cylinder engine that puts out 182 horsepower and 176 lb-ft of torque; if you want more power, you can opt for the new 2.4-liter turbocharged flat-four engine that makes 260 horsepower and 277 lb-ft of torque. The big change is the new vertical tablet-style infotainment screen that’s available on higher trims. The beautiful 11.6-inch Starlink infotainment screen controls everything from entertainment to navigation to climate control. Also included is the venerable Subaru Eyesight Driver Assist Technology.

On the other front is the new 2020 Subaru Outback. While we don’t know all the information yet, it appears that the new Subaru Outback will come with a higher ground clearance than before. The higher ground clearance is likely due to the car being built on the new Subaru Global Platform. Like its sedan brother, the Subaru Outback will also come available with the large 11.9-inch infotainment screen, built-in Wi-Fi, and an available turbocharged flat-four engine that puts out 260 horsepower.
