You may not think that a Subaru automobile is capable of being a sports car. The Subaru image has long been one of fun, adventurous outdoorsy wagons, and SUVs. Known for their incredible safety as well, take all the IIHS Top Safety Pick+ awards Subaru earned, you may not be looking to Subaru when shopping for a rubber burning, exhilarating drive.

But then, you would be missing out on the incredible creative writing wm. The BRZ is a small sports coupe that looks as good as it performs. And if you think that the talk of nimble handling, responsive and powerful performance is all hype, you’d be mistaken. In fact, the Subaru BRZ just set the new Guinness World Record for the tightest 360-degree spin.

Stunt Driver Alastair Moffat was the man behind the wheel of the BRZ when he drove the car about 30mph through a narrow lane of cars, spun the BRZ 360-degrees in 2.25 meters of clearance, and then continued to the end of the course. All in one continuous motion.

But precision performance isn’t all that makes up the 2016 Subaru BRZ. For this model year, the sporty little coupe has gotten updated with a new infotainment touchscreen, standard rearview camera, and a limited-edition HyperBlue model.

The BRZ has two primary trim levels, the Premium, and Limited. the rear-wheel drive vehicle, which isn’t a problem in sunny Ft. Myers, Florida, rides on a 2.0-liter horizontally opposed four-cylinder engine that puts out 200 horsepower and 151 pound-feet of torque. The low center of gravity combined with a finely tuned front/rear weight balance makes driving and steering a blast. And with five out of five stars when it comes to safety, you’re getting all the fun of a sports car with all the safety of a trusted Subaru automobile.

Here, we love the 2016 Subaru BRZ for its special place in the Subaru family. We think it’s the perfect addition to a line of vehicles that include some of the best family-oriented options like the timeless 2016 Subaru Outback, or the adventure-ready 2016 Subaru Forester.
