When it comes to ensuring that drivers of Subaru vehicles are happy with their purchases, the Subaru brand will stop at nothing. That’s why the automaker is always seeking new ways to better serve its customers in an ever-evolving driving landscape.
At O’Brien Subaru Ft. Myers, we love the fact that the world we live in has never been more connected. We’re proud to represent an automaker that is dedicated to maintaining the connectivity that has become so vital to our everyday lives, and we’re excited to witness the partnerships the brand is forging in order to improve its existing product offering.
The automaker recently announced a partnership with Sirius XM Connected Vehicle Services Inc., which will power the Subaru STARLINK connectivity system. Product enhancements will include safety and security services through a 4G LTE wireless network.
The in-vehicle STARLINK platform enables hands-free connectivity as well as safety and entertainment services. Features in the upgraded system are to include automatic collision notification, stolen vehicle recovery and remote vehicle services like lock/unlock via smartphone devices as well as monthly vehicle health reports.
Sirius XM Connected Vehicle Services Inc. is a unit of Sirius XM and AT&T, the latter of which offers the strongest LTE signal in the country. The revised STARLINK system will feature built-in AT&T 4G LTE capability and will be available on select 2016 model year vehicles.
