That’s why we’re proud to report that last week marked the re-launch of the Subaru “Share the Love” event, now in its fifth year.

The event kicked off on Nov. 21 and will include $250 donations for each new Subaru sold or leased through Jan. 2 to one of five chosen charities, according to the driver’s preference. This was the second year that Facebook fans were able to spread the love, too, with fan votes determining the charitable organizations to receive donations.

We’re thankful that the “Share the Love” event has been able to provide nearly $20 million to charitable partners of the Subaru brand in the last four years. This year, Subaru expects to award each eligible charity with $5 million in donations, with a total donation amount of $25 million across all “Share the Love” partners. For the 2012 event, charitable partners included Meals on Wheels Association of America, The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA), Make-A-Wish, the USO and Alzheimer’s Association.
