Subaru vehicles have evolved a lot over the last several years. New Subaru models for sale like the 2017 Subaru Impreza have not only gotten updated looks, they’ve also been built and constructed in a completely new way with the new Subaru Global Platform. It goes to show that Subaru automakers are in touch with their vehicles. And year after year, all that hard work pays off with Subaru models earning top safety awards and continuous performance improvements. Now, we’ve gotten a glimpse at where the automaker is going next with what we believe to be the next generation 2018 Subaru Crosstrek.
Last year at the Geneva Motor Show, the automaker showed off a truly impressive concept known as the Subaru XV Concept. Now, a year later the company is prepared to show off the production version of that model known now as the next Subaru Crosstrek.
The 2017 Geneva Motor Show isn’t until March, but we’ve been lucky enough to see a teaser image, which depicts the vehicle shrouded in shadows. However, it does give us a glimpse of the roofline, taillights, and some of the grooves and character of the side panels and doors.
Much like the current 2017 Subaru Crosstrek, the new model appears to be based on the 2017 Subaru Impreza. The crossover takes a lot of its cues from the sedan while adding a hatchback, sportier performance capabilities, higher ground clearance, and raised wheel wells.
As with all models, there’s also a major focus on tech and both active and passive safety features. We expect to see major updates to the Subaru Starlink infotainment system and the EyeSight safety suite.
For more details on all the new changes and what a next-gen Subaru Crosstrek will really look and feel like we may have to wait until the motor show in March but we’ll keep you updated as we learn more.
